As with all my From Scratch books, I make no assumptions about what you know about the subject. I start with a very few basic facts about the subject, develop the theory from the facts, and finally put the theory into practice with an application. Occasionally, math is involved, but I keep it at the basic algebra level whenever possible and do the tricky stuff in an appendix. I also use simulation and breadboarding (actual hardware testing) to verify the theory. In short, I take the mystery out of the subject and open possibilities for the reader to explore the subject beyond the limits of my book.
